Joan McIvor, BA, CHS, MFA (Retired)
Joan McIvor entered the financial services industry in 1996 after having spent several years in senior executive positions in the Merchandise Buying and Budgeting areas of large Canadian retailers. She has a B.A. from York University, a Certificate in Financial Planning and the following professional designations: Certified Financial Planner (CFP: 2002-2019), Certified Health Specialist (CHS) and Master Financial Advisor (MFA). Joan is licensed to sell mutual funds, segregated funds and life and living benefit insurance.
The ability to integrate information across all elements of financial planning in order to meet the needs of clients, combined with adherence to rigorous professional standards distinguishes Joan from other providers of financial advice. As a Master Financial Advisor, Joan is committed to providing knowledgeable, meaningful independent advice to clients. Joan engages in ongoing research and analysis, regularly attends seminars and conferences and stays current on industry products, strategies, market trends and economic forecasts. This allows her to assess the myriad of options available and make recommendations that are best suited to her clients’ individual situations. Joan’s greatest satisfaction comes from partnering with clients to plan and implement strategies that help them realize their personal financial goals.
In her spare time she is an avid golfer, is an active member of her Church and a long time volunteer for the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
